It takes a village to raise an athlete.
MFC is friendly, challenging, and so much fun. I spend over six hours a week at the gym and would go more. The coaches are excellent. The competition is tough and pushes you to get better, and the support of peers and staff is second to none.

Questions from new families
At what age can kids start fencing?
Our Mini Musketeers classes are designed for children ages 4–6. Each class focuses on basic footwork and blade work, hand-eye coordination and games that build motor skills — all with lighter, safer plastic equipment made for young beginners.
Do I need my own equipment?
No, not to start. Mini Musketeer classes (4–6) run 45 minutes and beginner youth (7–12) and adult (18+) classes run 60–80 minutes, all with equipment provided. Intermediate, competitive and elite classes run 90–120 minutes, and those fencers need their own electric equipment.
What are the benefits of fencing for kids and teens?
Fencing builds sportsmanship, self-discipline, a healthy competitive spirit, fitness and strategic thinking. It also brings chances to travel and gives students an edge in college admissions.
How do I sign up for a trial lesson?
Book online in a few clicks through our Englewood or Waldwick schedule. Kids 7–13 can take a free trial lesson; everyone else can start with the $590 intro package.
